Knee pain is one of the most common complaints of patients coming to the Orthopaedics OPD.
There are multiple reasons for such pain, namely Osteoarthritis, Patello Femoral Pain Syndrome etc.
Most of the patients are usually treated in a conservative way, which means a course of medicines and supplements and a regimen of exercise.
Regular exercise forms the backbone of such treatment.
Dr Firoz Ahmed, the leading Knee Replacement and Sports Medicine specialist in Guwahati, follows standard rehab protocols developed by World renowned Centres for such patients which he customizes as per the individual patient’s specific conditions.
Following is a general overview of an exercises regimen, which has to be approved and advised by the treating surgeon.

Hamstring muscles are frequently contracted leading to pain or a felling of “Tightness” behind the Knee. Stretching .exercises help in relieving the pain.
Hip Abduction Exercises
Hip Abduction exercises strengthen the Gluteus muscles and help in improving the gait.
